Sugar production reached 2.93 million tons in the second half of August. This result is 16.34% higher than the 2.52 million tons reported over the same period last year. Since the beginning of the 2020/2021 harvest up to September 1, accumulated sugar production reached 25,89 million tons.
The volume of ethanol produced reached 2.16 billion liters in the second half of August, with 659.46 million liters of anhydrous ethanol and 1.50 billion liters of hydrous ethanol. The accumulated production of ethanol reached 18.97 billion liters. Of the total fuel produced, 910.57 million liters of biofuel were produced from corn.
