Sugar production reached 2.87 million tons in the second half of September. This result is 59.57% higher than the 1.8 million tons reported over the same period last year. Since the beginning of the 2020/2021 harvest up to October 1, accumulated sugar production reached 31.95 million tons, 46.23% above the quantity on the same date during the 2019/2020 cycle.
The volume of ethanol produced reached 2.16 billion liters in the first half of August, with 779.87 million liters of anhydrous ethanol and 1.38 billion liters of hydrous ethanol. The accumulated production of ethanol decreased by 7.47%, totalling 23.44 billion liters. Of the total fuel produced, 1.15 million liters of biofuel were produced from corn.
